This view west shows the main entryway to the Palace during the 26th Warsaw International Book Fair, traditionally held there by Ars Polona. The image taken from the back of Parade Square includes the stairs and the colonnade behind the statues of Adam Mickiewicz and Nicolaus Copernicus, as well as a large-scale poster advertising the Fair. Most of the frame is taken up by vehicles tightly packed in the square in front of the Palace. On the left, a concrete viewing stand for honorees.
An image from the same photographic session was published in Edward Hartwig’s 1984 album Warszawa, figure 17.
