This aerial view north shows Śródmiejski Mall (currently Stefana “Wiecha” Wiecheckiego Mall). On the left, Wars - one of the Centrum Department Stores. On the right, an apartment high-rise at 35 Chmielna Street. In the background, other buildings of the East Wall complex on Marszałkowska Street.
Designed by a group of architects under Zbigniew Karpiński, the Mall was built between 1963 and 1969. Dariusz Hyc and Henryk Łaguna designed the 2006 restoration.
