Part of the East Wall complex on Marszałkowska Street. This view north shows Śródmiejski Mall (currently Stefana “Wiecha” Wiecheckiego Mall), the Centrum Department Stores on the left, and Café Zodiak on the right. In the foreground, cars parked on Widok Street and people on a pedestrian crossing.
Designed by a group of architects under Zbigniew Karpiński, the Mall was built between 1963 and 1969. Dariusz Hyc and Henryk Łaguna designed the 2006 restoration.
The image was taken during the same photographic session as the photo published in Hartwig’s 1984 album Warszawa, figure 34.
