This view north from the intersection of Jerozolimskie Avenue and Marchlewskiego (currently Jana Pawła II) Street shows the Central Railway Station and the Palace of Culture and Science in the background.
The Central Railway Station opened on December 5th, 1975. Designed by Arseniusz Romanowicz in cooperation with Piotr Szymaniak, the building was redesigned multiple times during its construction. The main hall is composed of glass and steel. Its innovative structure gained a lot of recognition from architects of the time. In subsequent years, the station underwent many reconstructions. In 2019, it was named after Stanisław Moniuszko.
