This view shows the west wing of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party from the Nowy Świat Street side. Designed by Wacław Kłyszewski, Jerzy Mokrzyński, and Eugeniusz Wierzbicki, the modernist building was constructed between 1948 and 1952 at the intersection of Jerozolimskie Avenue and Nowy Świat Street. In the foreground, vehicles parked in the parking lot in front of the building.
The photograph was published in Edward Hartwig’s 1984 album Warszawa, figure 44.
